Security Research Conference 2011

19-21 September 2011 | Warsaw, Poland

Security Research Conference is an annual event hosted by the country holding the Presidency of European Council being also the largest European meeting focused on security research. Since 2006 different European cities were the hosts of the conference, including Vienna, Berlin, Paris and Stockholm. Last year`s edition was held in Oostende in Belgium. This September Warsaw will have the honour to host the SRC`11.
The conference is a communication platform bringing together policy makers, researchers, industry representatives and end users from across Europe to foster the debate on future research priorities and the technological, legal and organisational solutions answering current public security threats.
The agenda of this year`s edition will be particularly challenging as the discussions concerning spending on research have to take into account the current austerity plans of most of EU countries and at the same time clearly represent the necessity for carrying on the research. Discussions will be conducted on ways to implement Europe 2020 strategy, Innovation Union and Internal Security Strategy setting the basics for Common Strategic Framework in the area of security in the next financial perspective.
